I recently picked up this old Murray, pretty much in the condition shown. It was advertised as a Schwinn Sting Ray, but it was easy to tell it wasn't from the pointy rear dropouts. It has no emblems and has been repainted a matte red. Pretty much everything bolted to the frame has been replaced with newer stuff, so there are no clues there. The serial number is M06 48 424xxx. I checked out the ID by serial number thread and it appears to be a 1966 Murray, but I don't know what the 48 signifies or what the model name was. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

It looks good, that's the main thing. They usually had the model on the rear of the chain guard. It looks like the right guard on your bike, maybe they didn't sand it down first before they painted it. In which case, the letters may be seen faintly from an angle.

Maybe it's a Wildcat!
