G day My name Josh I'm from the Gold Coast, Queensland.
I have just finally(after many many months of searching) got a bike for a project.
I'm still not quite sure on the model/year but it is definitely a Malvern Star it looks a lot like a 2 star but it hasn't got the stars on the head lugs or fork. But the old boy who sold it to me said it was a Preston Star. As far as I'm aware it original colour was red the problem is that the previous owner decided that it would be a great idea to hand paint the whole thing (wheels, frame and fork) with metallic green automotive paint and just under the green is a grey/purple paint then red.
This is the bike in question I hope some one out there can shed some light on this model.
The rear hub is a coaster brake called a "Super Granat" The front is a British Hubs Co Ltd "Defiance". Also the seat stay bolts right off at the drop outs.
This is the only stamp I could find "71 21" on the left side of the seat tube lug. but there was a embossed number on the bottom bracket "848"
Thank you for your time and consideration reading this.
