I can’t see the dropouts which would help. They could look like this.
The serial number indicates it’s most likely a 1958 Huffman. Not an expert. It’s got a Huffy chainring, but people change those. The H usually is stamped as a part of the serial number on Huffmans. Not sure if it’s 1948, 1958 or 1968. No skip tooth drive so if that’s original it probably rules out 1948.
Many folks consider all rear facing dropouts 'prewar', but Huffy actually launched that frame after the war, and were the last American bike co. using them, through 1958! (pre BMX era). -Adam
