so after deciding that i didnt want to spend $750 on an super nice expensive cruiser....

and reading and looking at a lot of the bikes you guys build here...

i decided to go the low budget route.

i found a stretch cruiser frame at choppersus for $179

i currently have a walmart bought 21spd mtn bike that bought, used, and abused about 5yrs ago...

is there anything i can use off of the mtn bike that i can put onto the stretch frame?

or... am i better off buying an inexpensive cranbrook from walmart for $64 and just take everything off of that to put onto the stretch frame?

I say buy the cranbrook and use the parts. I don't think you could buy all the parts to fix it up for anywhere close to $64. The parts might not be the best quality but not bad for the money.

Even if the axle spacing is right, rear facing dropouts and a cheap derailleur could be tricky for a first effort. Either something like the Cranbrook, or check your local thrift shops for old 1-spd or internal gear coaster bikes.
