Ok while sitting around bored silly I decided to polish the springs on my
Monark forks. These are the ones I used on a John Brain springer once.
I found they could be used on a monark fork to give it a little beefier look.
They are porch springs from Lowes and then some freeze plugs from AutoZone.
Anyway they have this coating on them, that when polished with a buffing wheel
and jewelers rouge , they come out shiny like chrome.

Nice work!
I like the way the beefy springs work on that Monark spring.
I will keep that in mind for my Monark.

Yeah Kingfish you can put a set together for around $20. The springs are $8.50 and the freeze plugs
are a few bucks. Make sure you take the springs with you to get the freeze plugs so you know which
ones fit. The said they are zink plated , so that must be why they would polish up good.
So Clancy if you have a zink plated stem send it down here and I will polish it for you.
