Does anyone know where I could find a 28" wheelset? I have recently aquired a 1920's frame and I don't know alot about these bikes. I also am curious if I will need to find "pre war" cranks?

first you might want to post an intro in the intros thread........and when you post it you might want to put where you are located(at least state) if your somewhere close to here i know a guy who might have a set for sale(he wont ship though)
well theyre not the easiest things to find but post it in the classifieds here and you might get lucky
and they do pop up on ebay every once and awhile but something like that you might want to see in person first(or you might get ones that are delaminated, have dry rot,or are warped)
good luck!
now if you dont care about them being old you can get a set of the 29er mtb wheels(the wider ones)and lace any hubs you want into them and they are the same size as the old 28" ones(plus alot cheaper as you arent limited in the use of tires...the wood and wood clad wheels you can only use singletube*tires with the tire itself being the inner tube* tires, solid tires,or sew up tires the new 29er wheels you can use clinchers*tires with tubes* and those you can get for around $12-30 single tubes and solids go for around $100-200,sew ups go for around $75 *i think*)
as for the crank you can probably use any one you want as long as you use the right size bb hardware

btw... after you do your intro be sure to post some pictures of the bike(im a huge fan of boardtrack style prewars!!! check my la cucaracha post for my dayton and ill post it later...aka mr. moto in the build off for my elgin  )
