I found this old prewar Schwinn DX in quite a bad way and have had some fun getting it back on the road. There were some eyebrows raised when I first posted some pics of this bike for an ID due to a few inconsistencies. The paint and decal are not original.. coppertone wasn't used until the 60's and the decal is obviously from some other brand possibly puegeot. The handpainted pinstriping was too nice to touch so I have left it alone and just oiled it. The frame and fork may have been modified before the paint job too but I have it on good authority that it is indeed a prewar Schwinn DX.
It rides beautifully now. I tried some dragster handlebars for more of a rat look but went back to these ones.
