so I have this girlfriend, she doesn't have a bike. With that in mind it gave me an excuse to startup another bike build :p. Awhile back I posted about a 60's spaceliner frame I got, well I finally got it and I didn't really have much of a use for it myself because I just have enough bikes stored at my apartment...anyways i'll stop blabbing.

I got the frame and steal wooled all the rust off of it and painted primer red.I also attached the rack on the back, I may switch it out for a chrome one at some point.

I really like the flat cleanness of the primer, so i went ahead and painted the wheels(first time painting wheels) the same red.

I had an extra schwinn springer lying around and i did the same to it and threw it on there.

Now I'm at the crossroads of choosing a seat and handlebars, i dont think she is a banana seat girl and i dont really want ape hangers on the bike....hmmm :?

lol....know that feeling! ask her im sure she'll have some input since its for her(if she knows about it)btw theres abunch of early post war womens seat on ebay right now so she has some options on seat styles(its always a good place to look and see what she'll like or not.........)good luck and looking good so far!

Confort should be your priority. If your girlfriend doesn't feel well on the bike, she will not want to ride it.

i couldnt hide it from her and she saw it, she loves it, I think i'm going to put a messenger seat on it, she sat on an old scwhinn we saw at the flea market and really liked that seat.

I would raise the rear rack by taking the bolt out of the stay brace and moving it up higher on the stays and making it more level. Other than that, the bikes looks great! Electra makes super comfy seats as does Nirve. They can be pricey, but it's worth it when your lady enjoys riding because she has a comfy bun holder.

Some bars off of a kids 16 or 20inch bike, about an 8 inch rise, flat black of course. The rear carrier, flat black to match. She looks GREAT in the red primer!

Yeah, I don't know what it is, but I would much rather see things painted flat with no shine then the most exspensive paint job in the world. That red primer looks killer, I think I may swipe that idea on one of my projects. If it ever warms up so I can get back in my garage that is. Dang this global warming and the 2' of snow in the yard! :x

at least you have snow :p here is florida it will be sunny yet still manage to be cold and wet.....with no snow, the primer took like a day and a half to fully dry in certain spots

Hey a Flightliner frame. I restored this same frame in flat black. Still want to get her some 24x1.75 whitewalls instead of these tires. :)

wow nice, i like the chrome rods on the front of the bike!, i wanna get a front rack for the bike, but i'm low on the funds, yea i'm not too keen on the current tires i'm using, i may just go all black, maybe cream colored tires, not sure

Wow. Those will look cool rolling down the road together. I really dig that boys frame. Gotta start hunting down a boys Spaceliner locally this spring.
