Putting a bike back together

Does anyone know how to put the forks back on a bike in th right order. I took my forks apart quick and didnt think about it. Now I am stuck. i tryed doing it and ended up bending one of the bearings. Not sure how they ever fit in the first place. I have a 87 Murray monteray. thanks

the first places i check are "how to fix bikes.com" and "park tools" has a repair guide too. bicycle tutor is a good one, but i dont think its free anymore. good luck, let us know how it works out.

The closed side of the bearing cage faces the outer race.

Balls in cups, then see above comment. And make sure you use that lockwasher on top of the upper race before you put the nut back on.
