My bud gave me a gray mid '80's Diamond Back Hot Streak freestyle bike. Its got welded stands near the dropouts and white Skyway wheels.

Any collectability in this?

As of now,my niece is learning how to ride a 2 wheeler with it.

Sounds like an 85 model.

Probably not overly valuable, but a cool 80s BMX bike none the less.

I would think that anytime a previous owner welds something onto a bike it's going to lower it's value as far as the collectors are concerned, just like when someone takes a Barbie, GI Joe, or Star Wars doll out of it's packaging. Collectors tend to be purists.

Cleveland,

The stands he's referring to are factory parts, they came welded that way from Diamond Back. Back in the day everyone would put grip tape on them.
If it's in nice shape it might be worth a bit, especially if the paint and decals are good. Lots of Diamond Back fans out there.

Its a heavy steel frame, but its still an original Diamondback so if its in good shape it should be worth something. the 6-spoke skyways are worth some $$$

Anybody have a approx. +/- value $$$ on it?

Interested buyer has'nt seen it yet and I dont know what to ask for it.Im not a BMX'er

Thanks

It depends on the condition.

Any way you can post a photo or two?

I'd probably be asking at least $150 for it if it's in decent shape.

Thanks Rat,I cant do pics cause Im a computer dope.

Its not cherry like the one you posted, but its not trashed either.Id say its a 6 out of 10.
