I didn't know anything about bicycles until about a month ago and don't claim to know too much now but my bike got stolen, I saw an english 3-speed for sale on craigslist for $40, and then I got addicted to tinkering with it. I am pretty happy with the way the bike looks but it just isn't very comfortable to ride. The handlebars and seat are too close together. I've noticed other bikes on this site that found solutions to this problem but I'm just wondering what some possible fixes would be. I've considered trying to find a seatpost that would take the seat further back or a stem that might push the handlebars further forward. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

(I already said this is my first shot at this so go easy on me)

your bike looks sweet! if you flip the seat clamp it will give you an extra couple inches it looks like, and a longer stem will help as well.. but upside down bars ,while extra cool looking, were done to cut wind resistance and were never a comfortable ride..

bike looks great , looking at your stem , longer stem is definately a option as long as cables have enough slack in them to pull it off , without hendering the shifting braking so forth , layback seatpost is also a option with less complication , and will not effect your cables or shifting. hope this helps u .
