question on Roadmaster-style forks

Can Roadmaster-style springer forks be taken apart for repainting? I'm talking about removing the steerer-tube portion from the lower part that provides the spring action.
 
I would post pics but I don't want to waste free photobucket hosting on that. Besides, anyone who knows the answer would already know what they look like.
I'm not asking how to do it, just if it's possible.

and yes you could do just that there is no problem to do so , take it apart and have fun with it :lol:

Wow, that fork looks really great!! Nice Job.
I just noticed that there are no lower struts.
Did it come like that or did you remove them?
