Was Columbia the only company to use this style springer?

Approx age of said bike?
Fork is on a frame like this without the full dress, and not anywhere near this condition. It is a rusty basket case.

Afore mentioned bike and a girls Western Flyer skiptooth (also a rusty basket case) for $25?
Buy or pass?

if the springer in question is 25 clams it may be a decent deal.
if it's the whole bike for 25 bucks hurry up before someone else scoops it up.
the bike pictured looks alot like my '52 columbia. i mite be off by a year either way.
the springer fork is also very similar to a monarch of that approx time frame.

Looks similiar to the '52- no tank or light and different bars. not sure about the chain guard. The guy who has it keeps it hidden behind his shed in a mess of weeds. I stopped and knocked to ask him about them.

That particular fork is prone to being bent, but that's not a big deal.

A similar looking one was used on some of the prewar Monarks. It was more like a postwar Monark but with a single spring.

And what was that address again???? :D :D :D

Here is a pic of the bikes, not the greatest pic though.

The girls Western Flyer is in the front, the a 80's huffy 3-speed and the Columbia is in the back.
Hoping to get them before work or tomorrow morning.

as far as the fork question, all i can say is that columbia/westfield did make bikes for western flyer and alot for sears as well other manufacturers, so seeing those forks on other bikes wouldn't be odd. nice finds by the way.
