I didn't want to spend a lot of time on this but the crustiness of the spokes was too much. I took a 1" foam brush and sprayed black spray paint on it to load it up. I could get right up to the nipples without messing up. You do one side, the outside of the close spokes and the inside of the far spokes (if that makes any sense), flip and repeat. By the time you're done with the other wheel the first one is ready for another coat. It takes just one stroke per side of each spoke, 15 minutes for these 20" wheels.
