I had other projects for the beginning of the year, but an off-road build-off sounds exciting.

I've also always wanted to try my hand at a resto mod and a look in the parts bin showed that now would be a good time.

So I'm getting on board now.

The basis for my Resto Mod project will be this 1994 Rocky Mountain Equipe frame which, despite the name and Tange Prestige tubes, doesn't seem to be very popular. Must be because of the Hammerite look of the paint. Anyway, it's been lying around for far too long and nobody wanted to buy it.

I have searched everywhere for parts and have found 95% of them (it' s not hoarding if your stuff is cool).
The shed looks like a war zone.

But I found this little treasure 😁

I had to think long and hard about which handlebar I should use but due to the lack of a suitable stem, the DMR Wingbar is unfortunately out.
For now.

The fork is heavy as f... but it's free so it's staying.
For now.

The wheels are also as good as finished and the 2.4" or 2.5" wide tires just fit into the frame and fork.

I didn't know Formula makes saddles nor that I had one...

Because I'm too cheap for a narrow wide chainring at the moment, this one will have to do.
For now.

I'm still thinking about a name for the thing.....Muddy Mary or something like that ..

Looking good! 👍

That chainring a 30 tooth? Nice micro-drive.going on here.
If I counted right it should be 32. I have found 3 cogs with 12, 17 and 18 teeth. I will see what fits best. I also found some lighty used chainrings online starting at 5€. So maybe I'll buy one.
