Raleigh Robinhood

I picked up a nice, original Raleigh Robinhood this weekend. The owner is calling me about a few other bikes, too. I really dig the matching seat/bag combo. Should clean up pretty well, and be very popular with the college girls. Wish I could say the same myself. :lol:

Your bike inspired me to go for a ride on a 69' Robin Hood mens that my wife had picked up. I took pictures of it today and put it over on another thread.

You can't go wrong with ANY Raleigh built lightweight with a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub - top rate construction and durability. I picked up this 1975 Hercules for $50 - I had a 1950's Hercules when I was a kid. They last forever!

Oh really now? Don't even ask how I managed this. I will add that alcohol was not a factor.

Saw the same Robin Hood bike parked outside at our community center tonight. Very nice looking ride.

Wow This Robinhood is nice I think with a little rubbing compound and wax it will look like new!

Yup, both at the same time. The read fender acted like a giant brake against the tire. The noise was as startling as anything. Basically, I did a huge, unexpected slide. Keeping the bike upright was a chore. Thankfully, I am pretty competent in a rear wheel skid. Just glad it wasn't raining. That would'a been ugly.

You must admit, it has a more relaxed roadster geometry now. :lol:
