I found 2 bikes this week.
First, a Kojima 14 speed road bike. I was going for a walk around my neighbourhood and saw a garage sale..........took a look and found this. The guy had $40 on it, but I only had a twenty on me.......it was an easy haggle and I rode it home . the frame's too big for me, so I think I'll use the components for other builds. It has great cranks and a good quality set of deep v wheels.
Next, a $3 find at a local thrift store. It's a Malvern Star (Australian, and similar in status to your U.S built Schwinns, I guess), so far I've narrowed it down to being built between 1938-1945 (I think). The mechanic at the LBS has never seen anything like it, and reckons it very rare, or may have even been a custom build .
First pic:
Now the money shot:
It has 16 x 1 3/8 wheels/tires. Now I have to try and find out exactly model/year what it is, and decide what to do with it. Leave as is? (it does a couple of coats of house paint by the looks of it), restore?, rat?, sell?, keep?
