Went to an antique tractor pull today, stock and modified. Bucket list event I guess as I had never been to a live event. Some really trick modified and custom touches. Really slick restorations and ratty originals. Some full pulls in all classes. Some really hauled iron.

Very cool! We have tractor pulls around here quite often, might actually have to go have a look!
We have a full open class over here too I believe, last I heard someone was running a supercharged Merlin engine in one...

Nice pics! Tractor pulls are fun to go to, I wish they had them at my local fair more. They mostly do the Doodlebugs, but those are fun to watch too.

Speaking of tractors, I'd recommend any of Roger Welsch's books about vintage tractor "rustoration". He does the same thing we do with old barn finds, left for dead, and amazingly, gets them running again! -Adam

I used to go the pulls regularly when I lived in the boondocks. That was fun. The lawn tractor pulls were cool too.

Local thresherman's show always has plenty of cool machines, the lawn/garden tractors are my favorite part. The pic above was from the Street Machine Nationals first year back in DuQuoin, IL in a long time. Just got it back to the area.

I rebuilt flathead Fords for a couple guys that did the nostalgia tractor pulls, very much "rat" tractor.
