I build stuff.
There's gotta be a rat in here somewhere...
Picked up this pile of 8 bikes this morning, could've thrown another girls 20" Walmart bike on the trailer, but I left it there. I have a church member that's in the scrap business, but he holds onto stuff. I have already organized all the bikes at his junk yard into one section for easy access, but he kept telling me he had bikes at his house too (property is very much like his junk yard). I stopped by yesterday because he collected all the bikes in one area, I quickly saw 2 things I wanted, a cheap Walmart "Next" mountain bike with the triple tree suspension fork, and a blue Schwinn in better shape than the rest. I went back this morning and grabbed them all, he would've let me have them, but I gave him the last $10 in cash I'll see for a month or more, we were both happy.
I will strip off parts that I want and then take everything else back to his junk yard and put them in the bike section in case I need nuts and bolts.
Magna, Sears, Columbia, Next, Schwinn, Roadmaster, Roadmaster, Huffy.
Shimano 3 speed on the old Sears bike.
I think half of these bikes were run over by something, check out the saddle, love the brakes on this one.
Here's the missing head badge for my 1950 Columbia.
Had my eyes open for one of these for a while so I can make a triple tree for my cruiser... where can I get tubing for fork legs that will fit these mounts?
The Schwinn, in nicer shape than the others, but still rough, but the frame/fork is straight. I am going to get this bike rolling and take the motor kit off of my 1950 Columbia and put it here, then my Columbia will be only pedal power. This frame should be strong enough for the job, and the triangle will fit the motor better.
My wife hasn't said anything yet, but it's coming. I'm already in disassembly mode making parts and scrap piles. If anyone local needs anything, let me know, just don't expect it to be straight.
