The rear hub on my Felt cruiser is slipping, how would I fix that? Never had a rear hub apart before, don't know how involved it would be to fix. Any help appreciated,Dave.

Part 9 (actually 2 pieces) threads on to part 11, and engages a curved lip on the inside of the hub shell for drive, and threads off to push the shoes apart for braking.

That part #9 makes contact with the hub shell when its fully thread onto part #11, you usually see a ring worn into the part were it makes contact with the hub shell. Some wear is fine but it should be obvious if it's excessive wear.

Also if your bike has a 3 piece crank with a pressed on chainwheel you might want to check that too. Most felt cruisers I've seen have a one piece crank on them though. If it is slipping at the crank you can usually feel this in the pedals when pedaling hard like your climbing a steep hill or trying to ride a wheelie  The hub slip seems to happen more frequently during normal riding but could act the same.

Hope you get your problem figured out :)

The bike does have a 1pc. crankset. The slippage is definitely in the rear hub. Thanks for your help, Dave.

I just had this happen to me recently. It's an easy fix and most likely just the cog come lose. Seat the cog in the indents on hub, tighten the lock ring and you'll be all set. I'd bet money on it.

On my suntour rear hub,
I had the same problem. After I took it all apart I found I had a bad Clutch Spring. On your part 9, I think the clutch spring is the part with the two tabs that goes into part 6.
