I recently cleaned and repacked the hub with lithium grease. The brakes work great and it shifts well, but slips under hard peddling in high gear. I did not take apart the clutch pack when I repacked it. I cleaned and re-greased everything else.

I was really impressed the design and manufacture of the hub. The days of making stuff like that are long gone I'm afraid.

I tried the search function, but was not very successful. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks, Loose Nut.

In my experience, it is one of two things. It could be that the low speed retarder spring is weak. Or, the cog is slipping on the driver. The cog is just pressed on and can get loose. If it's the retarder, you need to replace it. If the cog is slipping, you need to replace it or have someone that knows how to weld braze it up for you. I probably have the parts you need. Gary
