This one is done. I got really tired of looking at the orange ,through the rebuild process. Its gone. I used the Duplicolor green speck. I normally don't like green , but this one looks really good. Still have to come with a cool shifter. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm green with envy.. love that wheel and tire combo ! looks nice and beefy, bet that baby hugs the road nice'ly.

must be custom built forks ?

You really don't notice that they are that wide. I couldn't tell when I rode it. Yeah had to build some that were wide enough to take that front rim. Glad you like I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

those big wheels and tires are pure eye candy! really liking that dark green color too. it would look really cool with a big headlight out front or twin headlights! :D

Thanks John. They were worth the money . I have always wanted a set. I thought about a headlight , but right now I'm stuck on trying to build a shifter. For some reason I can't come up with a way to change the one I have or build another. :(

Looks sick...maybe paint the wheels black and the spokes green...or vise versa.

I agree. paint the wheels black and the spokes green

Whats it like to ride this bike? I have never gotten to ride a bike with a seat-pedal set up like this.

I really like this, job well done!!!!

I like the new green and the existing wheel color.

I think if the wheels were black they would look too heavy.

Thanks everybody , but we are past the ripping apart the wheels and painting them different colors. Basically what you see is how its going to stay. This was a nightmare anyway. I'm pretty much liking my choices on everything. All that is left ,is to build a shifter that won't be a long black cable from the rear to the front , and then ride it.
They ride nice. Kinda like sitting in a rocking chair.

I thought it looked great in orange, but I REALLY like that. The green and that gunmetal color, super cool. I know what you mean about the ride, I tell people some of my bikes ride like a Barcalounger. Oh, was that "aging" myself?...

I liked the orange , but got tired of it real fast. Just needed a change since I was going to all the trouble to redo it. Glad you like it.

I really like it a lot, and I wouldn't change a thing. With the new color and all the work you did to make those wheels fit it is a totally new bike. I guess you could say it is a scratch built scratch build, .

much better with those and the color change
are you running a nexus with a twist shifter?
if so.....theres a few ways to do those.
option 1:stick shift from an old shimano 3 speed will work
option 2: if you know someone with a lathe and want to use billet is make one like a certain chopadero did CLICK ME!
option 3: is same person sells those(dont know the price though.....possibly in that link)
option 4: is make a low buck version out of junk lying around THATS MR. LOW BUCK!

Thanks Sensor, I'm pretty much like the changes too. I'm almost second guessing my decision to use the charcoal on the forks and the darts. I was thinking if I used the same silver as the wheels , it would tie it all together. My wife said no , that she likes the darker better,
I appreciate all the list of ways to build a shifter. I used a Sach's 7 speed so that I could use that offset sprocket. It won't work on my Nexus 7 speed. They have that stupid plastic bend built into the twist grip which makes them harder to redesign into a cool shifter. When you take it apart and look at the stuff inside ....the steps between gears on the plastic ring are different. Its about a 1/4'' between first and second. Then it gets bigger with each gear change. Its about 1'' when it gets between six and seven. I'm almost to the point of drilling the top tube at the front and back and running the cable through the frame. It wouldn't look too bad that way. My top tube is 12 gauge and a couple holes sure won't weaken it any.

Thanks Skipton, I'm glad you like it
