Removing stickers from painted chrome graphics?

I've got a tank on my 1962 Skyrider and on each side, there's a sticker, right on top of the Skyrider graphic.. Is there a safe way to get them off, without damaging the original graphic? I have Goo Gone but I know that can have some unwanted side effects at times.

I've not touched them, as they kinda add character. If they were "newer'' stickers, I'd be more inclined to remove them...but, just for future reference on what to do.

A heat gun can soften the glue, and then gently peel it back. If that isn't working, try sliding dental floss or fishing line like a wire saw under it as you peel it back.

i say leave them. it looks cool.

Coat with vegetable oil and let soak for a day. Use a non abrasive sponge, like used for hand washing dishes. Rub with sponge, water, and dish detergent.
