Rim Ideas

So I dug out the 20 inch western flyer cantilever frame I picked up a while back and decided to throw it together. well like most of us we throw parts at a bike and see what looks coolest. well here my problem
I like these rims but id have to widen the axle seats for them to fit and need to be painted

or these just plain chrome rims that fit and just need cleaned up

Other plans for it are a banana seat and a better set of bars and grips and maybe a chain guard if I can find something to match the purple

I like the blue ones for a bang effect. You can file slots in the axle so it will fit in the fork. I think that is stronger. You probably won't need to file very deep, just to the base of the thread.

I'd go with the blue ones. You can also take a grinder and widen the axle slot just a touch. I have done it a million times and never had a problem.

I got a bike from someone who filed the axle down just enought to fit.. worked out fine .. but not something i would have
considered do ... but now would...

Going to run with the blue rims, I had a buddy call today and ask if I had a 20 in rim for a girls bike for his niece. So off went the small axle rim and in came a new 20 in tube.
