Sadly today the blues world lost probably the best female blues vocalist ever,Koko Taylor. She was 80 years old and was still performing until this last year.Koko was the embodiment of the Chicago Blues style. RIP Koko,you will be missed

That is sad. Here in Ma WGBH 89.7 has a blues show on Saturday night and has always played Koko, she had an unmistakable voice. They have in studio interviews with all the blues greats and she was one of them. I'm sure they will feature her this weekend. Itunes has that station on it's radio listing for streaming, I'll be listening for that saturday.

I was totally bummed when I read her obit in the LA Times Thursday. Never saw her live, but she had a great voice!

Really sorry to hear that. My former brother-in-law will be devastated. He would always take her roses and help her band set-up when they played in AnnArbor Mi. I always thought that was a very cool thing for him to do.
