Need to take pics to be able to post them

i just love old cycle trucks and really want one. :( the only cycle truck i can find these days is put out by workhorse ( i think ) or just look under industrial cycles and go under vender bikes or cycle trucks. back in the day ross cycle and a few other manufacturers made these unique bikes. they had a nice low center of wieght gravity and the whole idea of the front load was that when the handlebars were steered, the load would remain straight and stable for improved stability. schwinn put these out too and if you remember the movie "mr. deeds", adam ssandler's charactor delivered pizzas with a cycle truck. you can go into utility section of the bicycle forums and get more info.

hmmm... imagine the custom rat you could make out of an old cycle truck? 144 spoke chrome wheels with trick whitewalls and a custom twisted metal front rack or basket for the front. a metalic trick paint job with a velvet covered custom saddle. or...

Worksman is the US manufacturer currently making these. They call them a "low gravity" bike, as did most makers besides Schwinn that I'm aware of. Pashley and some other European companies make them as well. I"ve got an Arpan version made in India. Note that a lot of these just have a big frame meant to hold a wicker basket, unlike the Schwinn Cycle Truck.

There's currently a Worksman on Ebay for $75 + $125 shipping. It's minus the original basket, minus the kickstand, and I don't think the stem and handlebars are original. That's be a great deal for local pickup, but more than I want to pay with the shipping. You can buy the Worksman basket separately.

Are there pictures of this CWC Cycle Truck posted? If so, where? I don't recall having seen them... (but I could have had a brain fart too....)

still haven't taken pics. Just handed it off to Karfer for some love/customizing.

Need a name for the tank plate, any ideas? Chain gang? something about truck, I dunno.

no help huh? I should just call it el camino or ranchero  maybe ball and chain. Or I've liked Roscoe (P Coltraine), or Baxter or Kingsley.

looks great!
now are you gonna ride that one on the 11th zoso?

It's a tough call between that, the newly finished 39 schwinn and my rat rod I had at the T-day ride thing. The one problem with the truck might be the gearing being too low. I haven't ridden it enough yet to know how it is.

i think the gearing on the truck will be ok not a speed demon but then again that is a heavy bike. i am glad you did not ride it that front axle is really bad but i got your back. and sensor yes that is a spaceliner it is my nephew's new bike we put together for him. 2 speed, fliped springer, drop bar i like it a lot i just keep forgetting to take pics of it. he will have it out on the ride.
