Rough Huffy

This is a quick build of a Huffy frame and parts that I've been tripping over in my basement.

Crank was missing as well as the stem and fork. I pulled parts from this Huffy Sportsman donor bike.

I thought it would look cool in black with the blue wheels with whitewall tires.

In the end, I have decided to use the original wheels with the red tires. Clutter Alert.

I cleaned chain ring and crank. I had to find some good bearings. The crank has this weird setup that is non threaded. I think I remember this being discussed here a few times.

Anyway, I'll use it til it craps out. Got everything back together.

I have the same crank setup I wanted to use on Ratillac. The sprocket wouldn't hold tight.

Good to know. I have other cranks. I may just go ahead and swap it out.

Using this old Huffman fork. Was bent a lot worse yesterday. Looks better now.

Wheels are broken down. Spokes were junk. Need to get some new ones rolling to the scene.

Should be able to start stripping paint this weekend.

Been waiting for painting weather. Not here yet, but at least the sun's out. Got primer on frame and rims and final color on rims.
