well i got this from the little girl next door ...she wanted 20 so i told her 2 get a note from her mom and she come back with a note sayin no more that 10 bucks cause its all rusty ....what should i have done gave her 20 anyway ? LOL

all surface rust it will clean up real nice ...anyone have a seat like that and i belive ill b needin a front fender also !!!!

Nice buy! Great thought on paying the $20 also. I'd a done the same thing. I bought that same exact bike locally for...... $20.00! It was a little more rusty than yours. I tried #0000 steel wool with some light oil and the "chrome" on the wheels and fenders peeled and flaked right off! Thinnest chrome I have ever seen! The springer fared a little better but I want to try another method as not to mess that chrome up. I ended up painting the fenders in a semi gloss black and the wheels a satin blue. Looks great for a start but I'm thinking I should do the whole frame in the same black. Best part was the seat and back tire is perfect! Bike rides nice too.

Dumb question; what's that tire worth? I bought 3 BFKs back when wal mart was blowing them out for 40 bucks after Xmas that year... I put whitewalls on one and turned another into an old-school BMX conversion lookalike, so I have 2 of those slicks around. I'm actually running one on an old Ross Apollo rider/beater. Should I be running a noname slick and saving/selling the Schwinn one? I mean, I thin I've seen people trying to get big bucks for them on Fleabay, but I never bothered to see if they actually sold...

i bought one with the letters painted for 35 bucks ...and i bought another one for 25 bucks i think ,,,,so prolly 30 to 40 bucks ...just a guess im not super sure...anyone else know ?
