I've been watching this guy recover car seats for a while now. This is the first time I've seem him work exclusively on a bike saddle.

on the banana tip, this is the general idea but nobody in the videos I found are using the right means to adhere. A cheap craft glue gun offers superior bond to materials. It allows folds to be pressed flat. A good tight molding of the cover beneath the seat will stay put even if the bond between metal and fabric fails with time. Spot gluing has the advantage of being able to work length by length rather than adhering the whole cover to the frame, hoping the clamps were tight and even enough to dry all at once without pull or sags. A glue gun lets you adjust as you progress.
