Saving decals

I am cleaning up a couple late 60's Schwinns for a friend and the original decals have become cloudy white where they should be clear. Is there any way to save them or should I just order new ones? I will get some pics up when I get home tonight.

That seems to be one of those parts that are best to use new ones if you can find them. In my opinion redoing stuff like that really takes a build to another level compared to just repainting the frame.

I would just order new ones myself. Im told a "magic eraser" might clean them up but I think it would take them right off the bike.

The project is more of a refresh than a restore. I tore the bike down today to start on it. It is amazing what a little Simple Green will do.

WOW !!! thats nice to know, I would have thought Simple Green would have eaten the decal right off.

I just sprayed a soft rag down and scrubbed gentily.
