Ok, so I got some new alex rims (dm18) and they are drilled for a priesta valve. Would you drill them to a scharder or just rum with them as is? I am using typical cruiser 26 x 2.125 tires.

I'm partial to Schrader, but I would probably just us Prestas and always have the little Schrader adapter with me. I've done it before and lived.

W/ the presta's ..no cool valve stem covers. 8)

I may be showing my road bike past, but I've always preferred Presta valves. Especially when using a hand or foot pump.

Schraders are easier with a compressor or an air tank,

Thanks for your input, I drilled it. The valve stem cap thing won me over.

Always use presta if you have double wall or deep-v rims. (if the stem passes thru metal twice) You are garanteed a flat otherwise. The tube gets cut right at the stem.

Was it sleeved at the valve stem ?
Had a little rubber o ring in the adapter that kept backing the little finger nut on the air valve off.

Should have been more clear i guess  I was talking about the rim, the specs said it was sleeved but others it doesnt say, I'm just wondering if this has to do with MTB intended use for running at low psi and keeping the valve stem from slipping. And if it was actually part of the rim or just a sleeve you could punch out.
