Schwinn Continental before and after

You guys might remember I got this from a scrap guy for $5 a couple months ago. It was in pretty sad shape but the paint showed promise. Well after A LOT of scrubbing the rims actually came clean...I couldn't believe it. Only things I changed were the tires, tubes, bars, and black tape since the original blue was too faded. Even the lights work. Cleaned everything and polished it up. Just wanted to show it off because its so nice looking now.

Wow that is 100% amazing how that came out! What do you use to clean the paint? I'm always afraid of scratching it.

Thanks!

I use soap and water with a terry cloth, and I'm very careful around the decals. Once its clean I hit it with some pledge to shine it up. And I used wd-40 and a brass brush for the chrome.

Yea the rims had a lot of hard rust on them, took a LONG time to clean them. I thought they were junk when I first got the bike too.
