My Dad bought his brand new about 4 years ago for $500  His was the Deluxe 7, I'm not sure if they're the same thing :)

A Cruiser 7 and a Cruiser Deluxe 7 are 2 different beasts. The Deluxe is all decked out like a Phantom, and the Cruiser 7 is basic. The Deluxe definitely has more value (the earlier ones are best, more chrome). The Deluxe models came with Nexus 7 speed hubs. The 98 and 99 Cruiser 7's came with Nexus 7 speed hubs, but the 00 and 01 Cruiser 7's were derailer, although it looks like they made a 2001 "Cruiser Super Seven" which had the Nexus. If this particular Cruiser 7 has the Nexus 7, then consider pricing it just to get the wheelset, since the rest is no big deal, collector value wise, but they are still well built bikes. They also made the plain "Cruiser Deluxe" which was a single speed.

Here's a pic of my old 2001 Deluxe Seven, which I sold last year for $450 (originally paid $300 used). I've seen these sell for between 300 and 600, depending on model year, and condition.

And here's a pic of my 98 Cruiser Seven, which cost me $150, although it was very beat up when I bought it, and I added the rack. Not sure what these usually sell for on the current used market, because every time I find one for sale, it seems they are priced too high. I've made $200 offers on them, in the past, but was always ignored.
