I got this one out of Sodus, NY on the 11th of March

I have the same bike, only in black. There are chainguard decals on ebay occasionally, NOS I guess, as it wasn't a big seller like the Corvette and Tiger etc. Cool ride though! ~Adam
 
so that's what color mine is supposed to be. nice find, here's it's brother

saw one on craigslist tonight, was gone by the time i called
 
I rebuilt this 1961 skipper for a friend last year. We looked through all the catalogs. With that frame and paint scheme, it could only be a skipper, so I painted it like it came from the factory with the white trim. Some of the frames had the 2 bars end in the middle, others had them extend all the way down to the rear.

The skipper was one of the few Schwinns that didn't have the kickstand housing as part of the frame. Here's a frame painted to look like a skipper, it was found at the bottom of the Red River in ND, made in 1965, no telling what model.
