Schwinn Speedo Rebuild Question

Is there a way to salvage one of these iof the cable is rusted out? It was on the '61 Schwinn Jaguar that I recently found.

I think you can get new housing and inter cable asc Skipton he fixed up an auto spedo for his RRBO5 bike. seen the cables and drive on ebay a few times. That was a
fun ride on Sunday glad I got to meet you.
