Yes it needs that 3-speed cable replaced it pulled loose at the end...
I am a huge fan of the Schwinn Racer Deluxe, but for some reason, I never liked the non-camel-back Speedster or "vanilla" Racer. I know they are the same bike. And all have cool, "fast" sounding names. Weird, huh? I think it comes down to the cool racing bands and "hat-in-ring" decals found on the earlier Deluxe Racers.
Regardless, that looks like a clean, original bike. Nice find. They bring good money in these parts.
