Schwinn Tank Question

I recently picked up a 1952 Schwinn straightbar frame bicycle. My 60s Schwinn fleet has tabs for it's tank as does my '60 Panther. The straightbar frame has no tabs. Will a factory tank fit and stay in place in this frame or do I need a frame made for a tank. ?

The straight bar doesn't need the tabs as it is a full tank. The Panther had the "trimline" tank and Fleet had the "slimline" tank, both half tanks.

Good luck finding a straightbar tank for a reasonable price.

Someone could probably make a buck or two if they brought out a Schwinn straight bar tank. They had repops in the past...I have two different kinds. One chrome and one fiberglas. Both fit great.
The old ones go for around $250. Hope you find one. Gary
