I had to step in as a shuttle driver at the job.Took this elderly couple home, happened to be in my old neighborhood and we chatted a bit, told her i had 3 teen age boys at home and she said..what to you do to entertain 3 teenage boys?I told her i had a basement full of bikes and she said she had a few old bikes if i wanted them.I told her of course i do.She opened the garage and told me to grab em and get good use of them, her son is 50 now and got the Schwinn when he was 16 for Christmas.heck by the summer he was drivin and never got on it again, shoot been settin there since 1976.The other was never riden but once down the street.the Schwinn is a bicentennial 1976 Varsity(just needs tubes and tires).the other is a Vista Esquire. Not the best frame but the components are top notch.Dia-Compe and Suntour. The rear will allow for a 26X1.75 also, neat feature to me,love the fat tires.Made by N.I.D.A. ??.Still, awesome bikes for free and the Schwinn is bout to be ridden..Oh the cool blue head badge!! 8)

well, i took the Schwinn out today for a death ride.I kept the old tires and tubes on it,seemed ok.Held air and i didnt crash,it shifts like new and the brakes work good too..Hey Rick im a needin a few tires, got any red 27x1/4's?

nice score on the bicentennial, that lock might be worth a good little chunk by itself if its a schwinn brand combo lock.
