I went to make a scrap run today and I ended up coming home with these oldies.

Coaster brake Raleigh made in Nottingham, England. The Sturmey-Archer hub is dated April of 1974.

As I was about to dig that out, I saw this VERY RARE Western Flyer. This '92 model is rare because at that time, Western Auto was dying, and so was the Western Flyer name. Not many were made, not many survive and to think this one about got crushed! :!:

The Raleigh will be for sale as parts or whole, I did not decide yet. The Western Flyer is staying. This yard seems to have an appreciation for vintage iron. The yard owner refuses to scrap a rare 1965 International R190-been sitting for a couple of years now! As I brought this Raleigh up to the desk, one of the employees started talking about all the nice bikes he keeps pulling out of scrap loads. He salvaged a Raleigh Sprite yesterday.

Very nice saves, my dad's Western Flyer must be from around the same year by the headbadge sticker which I have never seen reproduction stickers like that while searching earlier this year.

Western Auto I read was until 1993 bought by the company that is now Advanced Auto Parts but there are a few actually still around including one downtown Tifton GA allowed to keep using the name, I didn't get the chance to go in but I saw tricycles hanging from the ceiling last month which next time I will definatly go in next time.

Incorrect. I am researching these late model Western Flyers. Western Auto was around as a company until 2001 and then, as you say, Advance Auto Parts bought them out. There are a few left, but all they have are the names. Their supply comes from elsewhere. I would love to visit one of those stores. They might even have the last few catalogs I need to complete my research! I was inspired to do this from a Western Flyer Wildcat BMX I bought.

No, Western Auto, by the mid 1980's, was starting to get some high end bikes. Some of their highest models cost hundreds in the 90's. However, their biggest supplier by the 90s was Huffy. Their second was Murray. I do have the ad for this bike from the 1992/93 catalog. It cost $129.99 back then which, when calculated for inflation, is about $200 today.

Cool that it is incorrect and thanks for the better info.

I might PM later for a Western Auto/Flyer Question because I'm wanting to get information about Western Flyer Bicycles or where to find the catalogs because for some reason when I search it always ends up nowhere even when someone else searched the same way or words I have but they get the info and I don't which is weird.

There is very little info out there. None, in fact. I am starting from scratch, and even then, the serial numbers are tough to crack. I will eventually need to buy bicycle manufacturer ads as well I think. The catalongs from 1983/84 and up are rare. They get rarer as they get newer. I have 1978-1980, 1983-1985, and 1992-2001.

Best I can find, this model was built on by Titan on the Diamond platform. Not bad. There was an older Titan with a similar frame that recently sold:

I can't wait to start on this thing! But I have a Schwinn Hollywood thats about done, minus a wheel, and a '61 Monark in pieces. I can save the paint, I have need to have someone make the FIRST repop headbadge for these-gotta go!

Ok, his is dark red with blue in areas from 90's that maybe is a Huffy 26 inch, it doesn't have a chainguard so I don't know what the Westerm Flyer beach cruiser model name was that might have been on it.
