picked up a schwinn exercycle for $20 from kijiji.
i bought it for the sprocket for my rat rod build off bike.

its in nice shape, with some cool features. i believe its from 1982 (stamped on the head badge)
topika schwinn on the seat post tube.

anyhoo, before i tear into this thing, i figured i'd ask if there collectable? is there a market for 1980's exercycles? perhaps worth while to part out?

I picked one up one time for $20 also and it took me forever to sell it for $50 on the CL.

I have a friend who picks these up from time to time and all he does with them is dismantles them for their parts. BB, cranks, chainring, badge stem bars pedals etc.

Parts is parts. :wink: I think the way to make money with these things, besides selling parts to Schwinn guys, is to charge people to haul them away. :lol:

nice! i'm only after one part, but it was well worth the $20.

id like 2 have all the chrome acorn nuts if u do strip it down ...i actually found one of these in the city dumpster 2 weeks ago was gonna get that sprocket but it was bent all up ...i really wanted it dang city guys smashed it up ...i got the acorn nuts and spedo !
