Hi Guys, My partner is building up an Electra tank model around the theme of a black 1949 caddilac so heaps of gloss black and chrome. She is looking for a set of either 72 or 144 (preferably) spoke wheels with a nexus 3 speed rear hub. The rims need to be highly polished alloy and the front hub to be alloy. We have only been able to find chrome steel rims. Any leads would be very much appreciated. cheers

I am sure it will be cool once it is finished. It started its life as a Zarape but working on it. You cant buy a nexus 3 speed hub in 144 hole but you can buy flange adaptors. If I have to go down the path of buying adaptors and building wheels that's ok but I need good quality rims.

Gotta tell ya the truth: you'll probably need to have something custom-built, if you want all of those features. There's the ppl who want quality high-polished alloy rims and there's ppl who want 144 spoke wheels.... not too much overlap between the two groups. From there, supply and demand takes over....

The chrome rims will certainly be shiny enough, and there's no way this build will ever even approach light-weight.... and, with 144spokes each, the rim is bound to stay straight.... why not go with the flow and get the chrome?

Ps-sorry if the above seemed discouraging. 144 is divisible by 36; perhaps you could drill'm out yerself, w/3 extra holes between each original pair? Could get weird, if the holes are staggered, though. Velocity makes some 36h rims in high-polish...
