seat post question

just got this sweet seat from Jayman and am having trouble finding guts to work with it. I see there is a post with built in rail clamps. Does anyone know if they make them skinny enough for a schwinn frame? Or know of any other options?

are you looking for a clamp for the seat rails(ie is there one there already)?
if its just to small for the seat post an easy way to get around that is to cut the seat post down an 1" or so then weld in some tubing that fits the clamp....also you might try an older schwinn post since they tapered at the top

yea, lookin for clamp/guts. Everything I tried either wont tighten enough or the nuts hit the seat sides underneath..the posts with the built in clamp, that tightens from above(or below), should work but all look too big around to fit the seat tube...

without seeing what your describing, it seems a shim of some sort might work.

there isnt enough space, side to side, to fit the clamp(that clamps onto the rails), without rubbing the sides....

No seat post exist like that. Either shim it or figure out a regular clamp up top.

Only new post to fit real Schwinns/Columbias that I've been able to find is a somewhat flimsy Wald product. It uses a larger diameter clamp area than the original, may or may not work for you.

Just rummaging through parts, came across a central clamp for Schwinn post that's 1/4-3/8" narrower than the standard type. If you think it will help, lmk, I'll send it. :|
