I did try to change the sissy bar position to make the bike more adult friendly . But I didn’t like the way the bike looked by doing this? I’m on the fence about how to position the sissy bar . For now it’s back to it’s original factory position. View attachment 216176
I’m a fan of Evaporust. That being noted I didn’t use Evaporust on this bike at all . I used a copper pad on the heavy stuff with dawn dish soap . Lots of people won’t use the copper pad . My logic is better to hit it once than go back and forth with 000 steel wool and ruin the surrounding chrome . But only on the very heavy barnacle rust . I also invented a non toxic bike cleaner / light rust remover and preventative liquid . It also makes bikes & chrome shine . I used that on this bike.looks great. Super unique bike! What was your rust removal process or chemical?
my buddy 500 bike Bruce was at Copake.
I tried the sissy bar a few ways none including the factory way didn’t look the way I wanted . I like your idea though.I like the last pic of the sissy bar where the supports are almost perfectly vertical.
Thoughts on cutting off the loop and bolting them inside the saddle instead, maybe with a brace of some sort in between for rigidity?
Love this bike BTW!
