Goint to meet a guy tonight about my 49 Schwinn ladies bike. I picked this one up 15 years ago from the original owner. They came in to my shop looking for replacment axle nuts (still dont have them). She had won it from the Howdy Doody radio show. On the one hand it would be great to sell whole today but i'm thinking I coud get more for parting it out. What to do?

You'll probably get more parting it out. Looks like it has lots of solid parts. Or, a great donor bike that you could strip and put the parts on a boys frame and have a decent bike. B607

Yeah, I'm partial to that idea, find a nicely patina'd mens Schwinn cruiser frame and build it up. :D

I'm thinking I'll ask for all the money, if i get it I'll be happy, if he doesn't bite i'll part it out. I have little to no intereset in skip tooth drivetrains or Schwinn stuff for that matter.

I imagine you could do pretty well either way. It seems to be very solid and straight. And good thought on the skip tooth & Schwinn stuff

While downtown i just stopped by the LBS to show them the Caliente, none of them had seen the Dynatron set up, Couple of laps up and down the street later the owner bought it on the spot. :D One down, one to go.

Other than getting the Howdy Doody story from the owner, i have no documentation...I think its going to go to pieces and then something may happen to the frame unless there is interest in it as is. Maybe I'll offer it up for customizing to order.
