A friend of mine dug this out of a shed and said I could have it to start up my bike project. Any ideas what it is? I have been trying to find it based on the chainguard... it's a weird one, that's for sure. I'm not too concerned with value, as I have every intent of a repaint and probably a bunch of random parts. Just curious. Thank you!

I'm also looking for some information on a Free Spirit cruiser I am working on that belongs to my significant other... I just put fresh tires on it, and it's a rad bike! Any info would be appreciated! Thank you!

That Free Spirit is built by Murray for Sears with cool paint. The stem has numbers on it above the insert line which has the year on it. Example: My Murray Monterey has F278 94 makes it 1994.

The decal above the bottom bracket has numbers on it too that can help date it and helps you to get parts through Sears Parts Direct.

It's a CBC/Ross, at least the green parts and the chainring. The serial will start w/an R if it's a ross frame too, followed by the year. -Adam

We sanded off some of the green on the chain guard and managed to uncover some lettering.

As far as we can tell from that, it and the frame is a Ross Super Deluxe, we think the rear wheel is the only other original part. I'll post photos later.

Thank you for all the help on both, I'm going to try to get the numbers on the Free Spirit later today.

You guys rock!
