My buddy picked up this bike for me over the weekend that I bought on CL last week.

Original wheels.

Besides some minor cosmetic damage to the front fender and rear rack, the bike is in decent shape. The current wheels appear to be Schwinn S2, while the original set is also a Schwinn S2. The originals are peaked, while the current wheels on the bike are flat. Already have the peaked wheels at the LBS for rear hub rebuild. Once the wheel is back, I'll get it ready for riding.

Over all, I'm satisfied with my $100 purchase.

Nice score !!
The wheels on the bike appear to be S2s (flat top with two rows of knurling and S2 stamping), but the others are drop center wheels. The bike would probably have come from the factory with S2s.

thats gonna make one sweet project bike. the chain looks litterally frozen in time, but with some hard work and time she'll build up really nice.

I just sold an original blue 48 schwinn just like that, it had white S-2's on it and a planes/trains headbadge
