Sign of the times? Craigs List bid

This weekend I have my Coppertone Typhoon listed on CL.

Trying to predict selling on CL around the Holidays is just not possible.

Last weekend, I sold 3 bikes, really a surprise to me, as I did not expect to sell any.

Today I got a bid on the Typhoon to trade it for 3 hours of professional Tattoo time in a Ft Worth studio............valued at $100+ per hour. He wanted the bike, but said that he was flat after the holidays.

I politely turned it down saying that my wife would not OK it!

I told her the full chest battleship would take way more than 3 hours and end up costing us $$$$$$$$$$$!

I think the cold weather is also a strike against selling bikes right now.

I think you are right, especially with the 10 o'clock News throwing around that 4 letter word S N O W.

Strikes fear in the heart of DFW.

Jerry I have to tell you as I was going to send an e-mail about this, my wife happened to look over my shoulder, and launched into a tirade like I have never seen. I have never been so frightened and excited in my life, she brought up my other Schwinns, my Airbornes, and my Felt. She is normally very quiet when it comes to my hobbies, I guess I struck a chord. :shock: So I will acquiesce this time.

The tattoo idea sounds kind of cool, you could get a Rat Rod bike tat. :lol:

Totally unpredictable right now here in the midwest, but much to my surprise, I sold one on Friday on CL while the snow was actively falling. Who would guess?

I'm waiting until around Easter to try to flip a few bikes.

That's way outa the market though for Cl here in the midwest. I could sell it pretty quick for $90, but that bike just isn't right for the market that's north of $100.

There's been a black one sitting on and off CL around here since September at $125. I listed one similar the very same week the black one showed up on CL. I sold mine at the listed price of $100 in less than a week, yet that black one still sits, 4 and a half months later. (I've actually seen the black bike in the flesh, it was in better condition than mine.)

Yeah I kinda thought the same thing, eventually the price will go down if he wants to sell it bad enough. It does look good though.

mine looks like it's comparable to the one in south indy, but I'm not asking that much for it.

It will sell, I'm in no hurry.
