Your Silver Vein Lichen bike is turning out nice, Mazda! I've thought about trying a similar powder on some of my bikes. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

Chainguard in place. Debating on changing pedals they have an orange tint. Need to shorten seatpost. Need to commit and finalize handlebars and tighten chain.

I looked everywhere on my last build for a truss rod bracket. The whole time i had two rolls of that strapping in my plumbing parts cabinet. I never made the connection. Looks good.

Well with some consternation and sadness I’ve switched the Persons Supreme pedal blocks from “orange-red” back to black. Too much clash at work and I’d hate to give them faux patina.

Installed the pedals with the black blocks to tone it down. Still need to finalize the bars and trim seatpost.

I oiled the chain and went for a test ride with bars dropped. I quickly realized that my old body would rather have them upright so I flipped them over and and tried the test route again…much better upright. So I put the grips on and left the seatpost alone for now. I added a Cateye reflector to seatpost for the nighttime legality.
I like the two legged type stands but trying to refrain from dumping more dollars into the bike. I hadn’t really thought much about the kickstand…need to drag out the old one and see how it looks and works.

Pretty much done…a few tweaks forthcoming.

This is the kickstand from the ‘55 lichen bike. It’s still pretty tight. Thinking with some cleaning and fresh paint it’ll be good for a few more years. lipstick on a pig.

Other than being put together with a variety of parts not much ratty here to see. JC Higgins drive train and wheel set, ‘55 AMF frame set, persons pedals, Brooks saddle, Wald bars and seatpost, repop Roadmaster tank and horn, Thompson grips, Trek clock, CatEye reflector, Lowrider light and custom bracket, unknown stem and truss rods, repop Trojan headbadge, repop Crown valve caps, CST tires, SilverVein powder coat by LORAC, stainless steel paint by Rustoleum and EBA and miscellaneous hardware.
May be a few more tweaks to come.
