I found this pic on a cool site I just found. I diddnt know this is how they masked bikes off for paint jobs

based on the overspray we often see, i bet they didn't fit all that tight.
probably has a lot more to do with painting technique.

i image they used lots of paint, not much air or a good distance away.
wouldn't surprize me if they used an electrostatic painting process.

I've seen them pop up on ebay from time to time. I think the last set went for about $800 or so.

Cameron is right there was a group of these on ebay not that far back. Cool memorabilia pieces from our bicycle past.
About the photo-standing there painting bike after bike ,day after day looks like torture to me. I'd be bored to death after an hour or two.
It is a very cool photo.
