those are way cool, hard to believe they fit tight enough to work and not scratch the base coat...

based on the overspray we often see, i bet they didn't fit all that tight.
probably has a lot more to do with painting technique.

i image they used lots of paint, not much air or a good distance away.
wouldn't surprize me if they used an electrostatic painting process.

My thoughts as well. Who will make some up? Would be cool to make them loose fitting with a rubber coat on the inside for a tighter bond.

Cameron is right there was a group of these on ebay not that far back. Cool memorabilia pieces from our bicycle past.
About the photo-standing there painting bike after bike ,day after day looks like torture to me. I'd be bored to death after an hour or two.
It is a very cool photo.
