'80s Womans 12 speed. Spalding Blade ATB-12
Not that fresh, but FREE
tell you what.... I found 30 yr. old chrome that polishes up like Schwinn chrome
Guy had this out next to his trash can..I picked this up a while back...cleaned it 'a little' then broke it down
Along came 0 Dollar Build Off, and I was working a longbike for the big Build Off..... that's finished
Plus, fixed up and sold about 6 "reg'lar" bikes in between on CList.

Started putting it back together today
No new paint, just spray bombed the fork
Polished the rest up with Astro Shield.....

Chrome....I just hit it with some oil and very fine steel wool....it's blinding.
Didn't expect much at first......well, here...here's a before / after.

Cool fact, it sat in pieces in the 'back' shed for months now...and the tires held air...which is pretty amazing...and when I put them on today and spun them...they are straight as can be.

I guess even with old dep't store bikes...the saying sticks..."they don't make them like they used to". ha
I worked on a Micargi recently that was left outside for, oh, I don't know, probably months...and all of the chrome was 'gone'...as in...not even there anymore....

This is a fun old bike to work on...As usual, don't know what I'll do with it yet...not worth that much but to someone for nostalgic reasons, (you know, like it was their first bike)..Might just make it into a single sp. or 1x6..then it would fly. It's more of a 80s cruiser than all terrain bike anyway....plus....people don't want to mess with gears here.

take care all
Franco

ell, this old girl cleaned up well from a semi rusty bucket of bolts.
All parts re installed, serviced adjusted, she runs as smooth as new...maybe better :) lol. I don't know, I'll throw it up on Clist , see what happens

I haven't seen much of this ladies model on the web, just a couple with dates claimed from 1975 -to early 80s. impossible to find serial No. database on the Spalding Bikes. but that sounds about right.

Any info ..fill me in if you get a chance
thanks
Franco
